Micah grew up in the Edmonton area. His parents complained that as a child he took apart many of his toys and their mechanical devices to see how they worked. He graduated from NAIT’s mechanical engineering program and then attended University of Alberta to complete a degree in petroleum engineering.
Micah has been working as an engineer since graduation from UofA in 1998. He has been working directly in the oilfield for 20 years.
Some significant engineering positions include: Process Engineer at Fiberex, Operations Engineer at Ensign Energy, Design Engineer at Kodiak Engineering, mechanical Engineer at Allan R Nelson Engineering, and Sr. Design Engineer at Hyduke/T&T. His diverse background has introduced Micah to areas such as oilfield structural design of service rig, drilling rigs, substructures, weld structures and equipment inspections, and FEA of skids to excavator attachments.
Micah started with Rus-Tec Engineering as a design engineer in 2021. He enjoys spending time playing games with his family, motor sports and finally putting together all the things he has dismantled.
